The courts also sentenced the woman's brother-in-law to time in prison on a separate charge.

On September 23, the Incheon District Court sentenced 27-year-old 'A,' who was indicted for murder and child abuse, to four years in prison and the compulsory completion of a 200-hour long child abuse prevention program.

The courts also sentenced 51-year-old 'B' to 8 years and six months in prison, the completion of an 80-hour long sexual assault prevention program in addition to the completion of a 200-hour long child abuse prevention program. 'B' had been indicted for raping his sister-in-law 'A' multiple times.

During the final trial that progressed this past August 29, the prosecution had recommended for the courts to sentence 'A' to 13 years and 'B' to 10 years in prison.

4 years.. Then there have to be "softening"reasons right? Maybe she went mad because of the brother in law

qo21 Chrysantheneum Monday, September 26, 2016

she was raped over a long period of time and was forced to conceive three children is what i heard. that's probably why he has a longer sentence--though still really short considering--than her.

LordLiar18 Sunday, September 25, 2016

It was a murder... 4 years, what's this?? That's extremely light considering the crime!

hanjivara Sunday, September 25, 2016

4 years ?? if she was in my country she'll have at least 25 years prison wow korea just wow

qo21 Sunday, September 25, 2016

wasn't the reason for the light sentence because this child (and two others) were conceived out of rape? not supporting what she did obviously, but i can see why she got the sentence she did... being subjected to inhumane torture by B, forced to carry out the term of her pregnancy three times and live everyday with reminders of her ongoing shame, trauma and abuse the physical form of children she has to look after, it could drive anyone mad.

Killing isn't a option or an excuse. That baby wasn't guilty , he doesn't even know why he was killed , why he had to suffer so much to his last breathe.... It's stupid to give her just 4 years when she choose to kill a innocent being!!

Chrysantheneum juukimie Sunday, September 25, 2016

Maybe she was of unsound mind. Like literally crazy. I think this woman needs serious psychiatric counseling, and not a real long jail time

qo21 juukimie Sunday, September 25, 2016

yeah, that's what i meant; she was driven out of her mind, that's why the court held her less responsible for her actions. it's a choice she would not have made under normal conditions, and it's nothing people could understand without going through the same thing as her.

juukimie qo21 Monday, September 26, 2016

It is still a murder, the baby died...theres nothing that can't bring him back, being soft on her because she was out of control, out of her mind whatever isn't good either! She should at least be admit in a psychiatry hospital for more than 4 years at least....

qo21 juukimie Monday, September 26, 2016

are you reading my comments? no one said it isn't murder. of course she needs help from a psychiatrist, no one is denying that. she is held less responsible because of this very fact, that's what the courts have decided.

Chrysantheneum juukimie Tuesday, September 27, 2016

She will probably be under counseling the rest of her life, and have to live with the guilt of murdering her own baby. As I said, she was of unsound mind. I think the realisation of what she's done is a lifetime sentence on itself. She probably expressed a lot of guilt, which will be a reason to soften her sentence. She is basically serving two lifesentences, not from a judge, but from trauma. 1. for being raped by that disgusting in-law, and 2) for murdering her own child. This woman will not be leading a happy life from now on.

Korea needs to step up their game. They're not fixing not anything new with weak a** punishments like that. In America she's have at least 30 years. Seriously though, smh Korea you call that a harsh punishment?!

Another example of the gross atrocities that mankind can produce. We are sick beings in our own rights and are influenced by anything that has an effect in our life good and bad. I would almost liken it to the movie the butterfly effect. Even the scum of the earth need love, otherwise this will just keep happening on an endless cycle. I don't condone anything that any of these two have done, and they should be punished accordingly.

4 years. That's it. 4 years. At least that poor child doesn't have to put up with this bitch anymore. ... and that's no comfort at all. Burn this bitch.

prady Saturday, September 24, 2016

the second you commit a crime as a revenge (and on a poor fucking child), you stop being the victim. She could've testified rape and gotten dna samples from the child, her and the in-law, that way people would feel sorry for her. Now there is none of that, someone who is capable of murdering anyone, and especially a child, doesn't deserve to be treated as a human. You're just as much of a scum, if not more so, than the in-law woman, go rot in jail.

Seems the courts knew more about this case than we're seeing in the press. Could be she's just as battered as the kid. That happens a lot when you see these kind of cases. It's a tragedy and should make a lot of us feel thankful.
