Veteran rocker Kim Tae Won of the band Boohwal, which translates to "revival" in Korean, expressed his deep gratitude to singer IU on the KBS variety show 'Boss in the Mirror', which aired today, March 22.
During the episode, he announced that the band is preparing for a comeback to celebrate their 40th anniversary. This will be their first new album in 10 years, as he had to take a long break to recover from health issues.
The hosts congratulated him and asked about his most profitable songs. He chose his classic hits "Never Ending Story" and "The More I Love". The hosts then brought up IU's recent remake of "Never Ending Story" from last year and asked how much it earned him in royalties. Kim Tae Won surprised everyone by honestly revealing that he made 100 million KRW in just one quarter from her cover.
Amazed by the huge amount, the hosts asked him to send a video message to IU. He happily made a hand heart and thanked her for the amazing gift. He also added that he would love to hear singers Youme and Do Won Kyung cover his songs in the future.
