Members of Brown Eyed Girls gathered to celebrate their 20th debut anniversary, marking the milestone with a complete group reunion. Ga In officially signaled her return to the public eye by resuming social media activity for the first time in six years.
On March 2, JeA shared photos and videos on her social media account, writing, “My beloved Brown Eyed Girls, congratulations on 20 years. We have only just reached 20 years. Brown Eyed Girls 20th, now it begins.”
The video showed all four members, JeA, Narsha, Miryo, and Ga In, reuniting. JeA added, “Happy 20th anniversary, Brown Eyed Girls. I was so excited while preparing the cake, and I am thrilled that you liked it. Just like the lettering on the cake says, we have only done 20 years so far, so this is just the beginning.” The beautifully decorated cake featured the message, “Brown Eyed Girls 20th Now It Begins!”
Narsha, Miryo, and Ga In also celebrated the long-awaited reunion and the group’s milestone anniversary. Narsha wrote, “I love you, Brown Eyed Girls. Do not get sick. Let’s stay together for a long, long time. Brown Eyed Girls is the best. It is our 20th anniversary. Loud, funny, and happy. You know that I love you so much, right?”
Miryo shared, “Let’s stay healthy, Brown Eyed Girls, and our fans too.” JeA added, “We love you.” Ga In’s return to social media drew particular attention. She had suspended her online activities during a prolonged period of self-reflection following controversy related to illegal propofol use. She was summarily indicted and fined 1 million KRW (about 680 USD) in early 2021 for charges connected to propofol administration between July and August 2019. Since then, she has taken time away from public activities.
Last year, Ga In gradually began reconnecting with the public, starting with radio appearances and occasional updates through acquaintances’ social media accounts. During her appearance on Lim Seulong’s YouTube channel OngStyle, she said, “The one thing I do best is music. Rather than offering long explanations, I want to return to my fans with good music and a well-crafted album.” She revealed that she has been preparing for her comeback.
As Brown Eyed Girls celebrate their 20th anniversary, fans are looking forward to the group’s next chapter and to Ga In’s long-awaited return to music.
