President Lee Jae Myung extends congratulations on the historic Grammy win of “Golden”

President Lee Jae Myung extended his warmest congratulations to the team behind the Grammy-winning masterpiece “Golden.”

On February 2 KST, South Korea’s President Lee Jae Myung said through his official X account, “The theme song ‘Golden’ from ‘KPop Demon Hunters’ has written a new chapter in K-pop history by winning the ‘Best Song Written for Visual Media’ at the Grammy Awards.”

He added, “This marks the first time a K-pop composer or producer has won a Grammy Award. We extend our warmest congratulations on this precious achievement, earned on the world’s most prestigious stage that every musician dreams of.

Although they did not take home the award, we also send our applause to BLACKPINK’s Rosé and KATSEYE’s Jeong Yoon Chae, who clearly demonstrated their global competitiveness by being nominated.

We will continue to provide strong support so that our artists can showcase their talents on even larger stages. Above all, today's achievement was possible thanks to the hard work of the production team and staff members behind the scenes. You are all the pride of the Republic of Korea.”

Previously, ‘KPop Demon Hunters’ original soundtrack “Golden” was announced the winner of “Best Song Written for Visual Media” at the 68th Grammy Awards Premiere Ceremony held on February 1 (local time) in Los Angeles. This marks the first time a K-Pop song bagged an award at the prestigious Grammy awards.

The category honors songwriters whose work for visual media demonstrates both artistic and musical excellence, making the win especially significant. With this, EJAE, Teddy, 24, and IDO (Yoo Han, Kwak Jung Gyu, Nam Hee Dong) officially earn the title of Grammy winners.

Meanwhile, at this year’s ceremony, Rosé of BLACKPINK performed the opening stage with Bruno Mars after being nominated for three categories with “APT.,” including the main categories' awards for “Song of the Year” and “Record of the Year.” However, she did not take home a win. KATSEYE, who was nominated for “Best New Artist,” also did not bag the award.
