Ong Seong Wu has decided to continue his journey with his current agency, Fantagio.
On February 9, Fantagio announced, “After in-depth discussions based on mutual trust and confidence, we have signed a contract renewal with actor Ong Seong Wu,” adding, “We will spare no effort in fully supporting Ong Seong Wu, who possesses limitless potential, so that he can continue to showcase a wide range of activities.”
The news had already drawn significant attention after Ong Seong Wu personally shared the contract renewal with fans through his official fan cafe on the 6th. He wrote, “After a long period of careful consideration and many conversations, I decided to continue working with my agency and proceeded with the renewal.”
He went on to express his gratitude to both his team and fans, saying, “I felt there were still many things I wanted to achieve together with the people who have done their best for me. Rather than moving to a new nest, I chose to stay in a familiar one and continue this journey together until the time comes to spread my wings.” He added, “With the unwavering support and love of Woori, who are more reassuring and stronger than anything else, I will grow into a better person and repay you through my work.”
Ong Seong Wu first made his acting debut in JTBC’s 'At Eighteen,' where he delivered a remarkably stable performance for a rookie actor and left a strong impression on viewers. His potential as an actor was recognized when he won Rookie Awards at the 2019 Korea Drama Awards and the 2019 Asia Artist Awards.
Since then, he has built a diverse filmography, appearing in films such as 'Seoul Vibe' and 'Life Is Beautiful,' as well as dramas including 'More Than Friends' and 'Strong Girl Nam Soon.' In July last year, he made his theater debut with 'Shakespeare in Love,' earning praise from audiences for his solid acting and further expanding his range on stage.
In addition to acting, Ong Seong Wu has also established himself as a singer by releasing multiple albums. With his tireless activity across genres, he has firmly positioned himself as an “all-round artist.” Attention is now focused on what kind of synergy he will create through his renewed partnership with Fantagio.
Meanwhile, Ong Seong Wu is set to hold his fan meeting 'ONG LAND' on March 7 in Wuhan, China, as he continues his active domestic and international activities.
