Kim Se Jeong may soon be parting ways with her longtime agency Jellyfish Entertainment after a decade together.
On February 20, JTBC reported that the singer and actress recently began discussions regarding the renewal of her exclusive contract, which is approaching its expiration. Although talks with Jellyfish Entertainment are currently underway, Kim Se Jeong is also said to have met with several other agencies as she carefully considers a range of options.
In response to the report, Jellyfish Entertainment stated, “We are currently in the midst of contract renewal discussions, but nothing has yet been finalized.” The agency added that it will continue to carry out its management duties for Kim Se Jeong until the end of her contract period.
Kim Se Jeong first gained public attention in 2016 as a trainee under Jellyfish Entertainment on Mnet’s audition program 'Produce 101.' She went on to debut as a member of the project group I.O.I later that year, before re debuting in the girl group Gugudan. She subsequently launched a solo career and, in recent years, has increasingly focused on acting, building a steady presence in both television dramas and films.
With her contract set to expire soon, industry observers are watching closely to see whether Kim Se Jeong will extend her 10 year partnership with Jellyfish Entertainment or embark on a new chapter in her career.
