"MZ Wannabe Icon" IVE (Yujin, Gaeul, Rei, Wonyoung, Liz, Leeseo) added special meaning to their 2nd full-length album comeback with a symbolic graduation ceremony.
On February 25th KST, their agency, Starship Entertainment, released a special video titled "We Graduated" on IVE's official YouTube channel.
Marking the year that youngest member Leeseo became an adult—meaning all members are now in their 20s—IVE has been releasing various graduation-themed content. This includes videos of "Celebrity IVE" congratulating "Student IVE," behind-the-scenes film photos, and graduation portraits. This latest video serves as the grand finale to their graduation celebrations, fueling the excitement for their new album.
In the video, the members gathered as high school seniors and opened with a witty skit. Gaeul explained the significance of the event, linking it to their 2nd album, 'REVIVE+': "This ceremony signifies our departure as a new, evolved IVE through graduation."
The members participated in fun activities like creating their own "diplomas." Deciding what they wanted to "graduate from" as they entered this new era, Yujin presented a "Queen Graduation Award," while Wonyoung introduced a "Princess Graduation Award," joking that she is "graduating from being a princess to becoming a queen." Other creative awards like the "Now I’m Twenty Award" and the "Kind Guinea Pig Graduation Award" filled the room with laughter.
They also produced "UCC videos" for their double title tracks, "BANG BANG" and "BLACKHOLE." Split into teams through a game, the members showcased their individual styles and storytelling, raising anticipation for their performances.
During a sentimental moment, the members watched a video montage of their journey from their debut to the present—ranging from their tearful first award wins as rookies to their massive stage at Lollapalooza. Leeseo moved to tears as the video revisited their past aspirations to be the "energy," "luck," and "shining stars" of the industry.
Reflecting on the journey, leader An Yu-jin delivered a heartfelt commencement speech: "It's okay to make mistakes or take the long way around. The important thing is never to stop." The members concluded the ceremony by encouraging one another, emphasizing that this "graduation" is not an end but a new beginning.
IVE recently achieved their sixth "Perfect All-Kill" on major domestic charts with the pre-release track "BANG BANG," released on the 9th. Now, they are officially kicking off promotions for their title track "BLACKHOLE," continuing the "IVE Syndrome."
IVE released their 2nd full-length album, 'REVIVE+', on the 23rd. They will perform the debut stage of "BLACKHOLE" on February 26th at 6:00 PM on Mnet’s 'M Countdown'.
