
Heo Gayoon, formerly of the K-pop group 4minute, has been living in Bali for three years, finding solace and a new rhythm of life after years of personal struggles. She candidly shared her journey on the February 25 episode of tvN’s 'You Quiz on the Block' (Episode 332), titled 'Holding a Grudge.'
The episode features notable guests, including Dr. Jang Hyung Woo, who overcame severe obesity, snowboard medalist Kim Sang Kyum, actor Park Ji Hoon from the film 'The King's Warden,' and Heo Gayoon, who has embraced a simpler life in Bali.
During the show, Heo Gayoon revealed that her move to Bali was deeply influenced by the sudden passing of her older brother at the age of 33. She tearfully shared how this profound loss reshaped her perspective on life.
Reflecting on her past, Heo Gayoon disclosed that she began training as a trainee at 14 and endured school bullying without fully understanding why. She spoke about persevering to pursue her dream of becoming a singer, the challenges she faced after 4Minute disbanded, and the transition into acting, which brought its own setbacks.
She also opened up about her seven-year struggle with binge eating disorder and obsessive habits, describing a time when she pushed herself relentlessly. Today, she says her life in Bali has allowed her to focus on health, balance, and creating a peaceful daily routine.
