BTS’s Jin once again proved his unmatched presence ahead of the Lunar New Year by ranking No. 1 in Idol Chart’s “Meet the Parents Pass” poll.
Jin of BTS claimed first place in the Idol Chart survey titled “With Lunar New Year approaching, who is No. 1 for a hometown meet the parents pass?” The poll, held from February 2 to February 8, saw Jin receive 9,683 votes, accounting for 76% of the total vote. Amid strong participation, he secured an overwhelming lead and maintained his position at the top.
Jin has consistently ranked high in similar surveys, earning titles such as “Idol you want to introduce to your parents” and “Star you want to travel home with during the holidays.” This latest result further solidifies his reputation. His clear features, neat image, and bright, honest charm have firmly established him as the quintessential “meet the parents pass” idol.
Fans also cite his steady charitable efforts as a key reason for their trust and admiration. In January last year, Jin donated 100 million KRW (approximately 75,000 USD) to Korea University Medical Center to support patients with incurable diseases in underdeveloped countries. On Children’s Day, May 5, he donated another 100 million KRW to the Children’s Hospital at Asan Medical Center in Seoul. On his birthday, December 4, he contributed 100 million KRW to Namgwang Social Welfare Center in Busan.
Since 2018, Jin has also made monthly donations to UNICEF Korea and joined the UNICEF Honors Club, a group for donors who have contributed over 100 million KRW. Inspired by his actions, fans have continued to participate in donations and volunteer work, extending his positive influence.
His activities extend beyond music. Jin served as a torchbearer for the 2024 Paris Olympics and appeared in his solo variety show ‘Run Jin’ as well as the Netflix original ‘Kian’s Bizarre B&B.’ He is also active as a global ambassador for numerous brands including Gucci (Italy), Fred (France), Alo and Dolby (U.S.), Laneige (Korea), Ottogi Jin Ramen, Dongwon Tuna, and Lucido-L (Japan).
As a solo artist, Jin has made a distinct mark with the release of his solo albums ‘HAPPY’ and ‘Echo.’ He held his first solo fan concert and first world tour, ‘#RUNSEOKJIN_EP.TOUR,’ performing 18 shows across nine cities. The tour entered the U.S. Pollstar Global Concert Tour Top 20.
Following encore performances at Incheon Munhak Stadium on October 31 and November 1, a live film capturing the Goyang concert, ‘#RUNSEOKJIN_EP.TOUR THE MOVIE,’ was also released.
Meanwhile, Jin is set to release BTS’s 5th full length album ‘ARIRANG’ on March 20. Along with the news of his poll victory, anticipation for the upcoming comeback continues to rise.
