TWS member Jihoon will be absent from select upcoming schedules following the recent passing of his father.
On January 16, PLEDIS Entertainment announced via the global fan platform Weverse that Jihoon will not participate in the group’s upcoming China fansign event. The notice was posted under the title 'Notice Regarding TWS Jihoon’s Upcoming Schedule.'
According to the statement, Jihoon will be unable to attend the Beijing fansign event scheduled for January 17–18, which is being held in celebration of TWS’s fourth mini album release. The agency further explained that his future activities may also be subject to change. “Jihoon’s participation in upcoming schedules may be adjusted flexibly depending on the situation. Further details will be announced separately,” PLEDIS Entertainment stated.
Jihoon reportedly suffered the loss of his father on January 11. His father, who had been battling illness, passed away after his condition worsened. Jihoon has since remained with his family as they observe a period of mourning. PLEDIS Entertainment asked for fans’ understanding, saying, “We kindly ask for your generous understanding and support. Please send Jihoon your warm condolences. We thank 42 for your continued love and consideration.”
Meanwhile, TWS is scheduled to hold their first-ever solo performance in Greater China on January 24–25 at the Macau Studio City Event Center.
