Singer and actor P.O. revealed a candid story about being encouraged to undergo plastic surgery before debuting with Block B.
On January 19, a video titled 'Brothers, Everyone Follow Me to the Rooftop Kwon Sang Woo Moon Chae Won P.O.' was uploaded to the YouTube channel 'Zzanbro.' The episode featured Kwon Sang Woo, Moon Chae Won, and P.O., who are currently promoting their film 'Heartman: Rock and Love.'
During the conversation, P.O. prefaced his story by saying it was the first time he had ever spoken about it. He then recalled his experience leading up to Block B’s debut, explaining that members whose visuals were considered slightly lacking were taken to a plastic surgery clinic. P.O. said that he and a few other members were selected and given detailed consultations, including facial markings to estimate potential procedures.
P.O. shared that he felt conflicted about the suggestion. He explained that he was confident in his appearance and genuinely liked his face, which made him hesitant to go through with surgery. However, he recalled the doctor telling him that with minor adjustments to his nose and eyes, he could be made to resemble Kwon Sang Woo.
Reflecting on the moment, P.O. said that at the time, Kwon Sang Woo was at the height of his star power and looked incredibly radiant. He added that he spent a long time thinking about the suggestion after returning home. While looking at himself in the bathroom mirror and repeating Kwon Sang Woo’s name, he ultimately decided that it was not something he could do and chose not to undergo surgery.
The story prompted laughter from the guests on set, who reassured P.O. that his current appearance is charming and that not getting surgery was the right decision. P.O. also pointed out an ironic twist. When he later received a casting call for a film, he initially wondered what kind of role it might be. After learning that he had been cast as Kwon Sang Woo’s younger brother, he said he could not help but think back to the doctor’s comment and joked that it had come true in an unexpected way.
Released on January 14, 'Heartman: Rock and Love' is a comedy about Seung Min, played by Kwon Sang Woo, a man who reunites with his first love and struggles to hold on to her while hiding a secret he cannot reveal. In the film, P.O. plays Seung Ho, Seung Min’s younger brother, a character who lacks tact but has a warm and sincere heart.
