Comedian Park Na Rae has suspended all activities amid a series of controversies and was completely edited out of MBC’s 'Where Is My Home.'
In the episode aired on the afternoon of January 1, trot singer Park Ji Hyun appeared alongside Im Woo Il and Kim Dae Ho as they headed out for the first house tour of the new year.
Although Park Na Rae participated in the studio recording that day, she was entirely removed from the broadcast. Sitting next to Park Ji Hyun—who is also from Mokpo—Park Na Rae was only partially visible through fleeting shots of her clothing and hands during close-ups of Park Ji Hyun. Her appearance was otherwise fully cut, and even her voice was completely removed, drawing attention from viewers.
This follows a similar move in last week’s episode, when the 'Where Is My Home' production team deleted all individual shots of Park Na Rae, leaving her visible only in group-wide shots. In the latest broadcast, she again appeared only briefly in occasional full shots, with most scenes framed to exclude her entirely.
Park Na Rae was also thoroughly removed from the audio. Aside from brief reaction shots, all of her individual remarks were muted or cut, rendering them inaudible.
Previously, the production team announced that they had decided on her departure from the show out of respect for her wishes and would edit her out of existing footage as much as possible. As a result, all episodes featuring Park Na Rae are currently undergoing extensive editing.
Meanwhile, Park Na Rae has been embroiled in multiple allegations raised by former managers, including abuse of power, proxy prescriptions, illegal medical procedures, and embezzlement. The former managers claimed that while working at her one-person agency, they were subjected to verbal abuse, forced to run personal errands, and were not properly compensated. They filed for a provisional seizure of real estate worth approximately 100 million KRW (approx. 69,221 USD) at the Seoul Western District Court and submitted an embezzlement complaint to the Gangnam Police Station in Seoul.
In response, Park Na Rae’s side argued that the former managers began making false claims after being denied a demand for 10% of the company’s revenue, and countersued them on charges of attempted extortion. However, controversy escalated further after allegations emerged that Park Na Rae had received illegal medical procedures from an unlicensed practitioner known as “Injection Aunt.”
Ultimately, Park Na Rae withdrew from major variety shows, including MBC’s 'I Live Alone' and 'Where Is My Home,' as well as tvN’s 'Amazing Saturday,' and has halted all broadcasting activities. Networks are currently editing out or minimizing her appearance, even in episodes that were already filmed.
Following the controversy, Park Na Rae released a final statement via video, saying, “The matters currently being raised are under legal review to verify the facts. During this process, I will refrain from making any additional public statements.”
