Park Na Rae issued a detailed rebuttal after being accused of workplace abuse by her former managers, stating that the former employees engaged in misconduct including embezzlement, falsified reporting, and repeated attempts at coercion.
A representative for Park Na Rae spoke with Sports Kyunghyang on the afternoon of December 5 and explained the circumstances along with her position. According to the representative, the former managers had continuously attempted to intimidate Park Na Rae by threatening to reveal various details about her personal life.
“We apologize for the delay in releasing an official statement because we needed sufficient time to verify the facts,” the representative said. “Two employees who worked with Park Na Rae for approximately one year and three months recently left the company and received their severance pay. However, they then demanded an additional payment equal to 10 percent of the company’s previous year’s revenue.”
Regarding the controversy over the delayed registration required for pop culture and arts management agencies, the representative clarified that the employees who raised the issue were the same individuals responsible for handling the registration. “We have confirmed that they falsely reported to us that the registration process had been completed,” the representative added.
The statement also noted that the former managers’ allegations expanded over time. “They began raising new claims and insisted that legally conducted medical procedures were illegal. They used these accusations to demand money and applied pressure by contacting media outlets.”
Park Na Rae’s team acknowledged shortcomings in administrative operations and stated that corrective measures are underway. “We are completing the required registration through proper legal procedures and will not avoid responsibility concerning operational deficiencies,” they said. “However, we cannot comply with unilateral demands or succumb to unnecessary pressure. As a result, we have decided to pursue legal action.”
Park Na Rae’s side has reportedly hired a law firm to investigate the situation and confirm the former managers’ misconduct. “We have verified approximately 25 million KRW (about 17,000 USD) in embezzlement by the former managers and are preparing an appropriate response,” the representative added.
Earlier, the former managers filed a civil lawsuit claiming that Park Na Rae caused them injuries and engaged in acts such as assault and improper proxy medical prescriptions. They also reportedly sought a provisional seizure of her real estate assets.
