Park Han Byul has shared her reflections on returning to her acting career for the first time in six years, overcoming past controversies surrounding her husband.
On January 15, Park Han Byul posted on her social media account, writing, “My very first short-form drama. You’ll be able to watch it starting today on the Drama Box application.”
She added, “Everything felt very fresh while filming, and it was especially nice to reunite with Go Joo Won after so many years. In many ways, it was a truly meaningful experience ♥,” before asking viewers for their support with the phrase, “Please show lots of love.”
Park Han Byul stars in 'The Janitor’s Second Marriage,' which begins with the founder of a global bio group leaving home after a conflict with his son and daughter-in-law. A chance encounter leads to an unexpected connection that gradually deepens, forcing the characters to confront their emotional wounds. Through the process of understanding one another, their lives take on a new direction and meaning.
Park Han Byul plays Jung Se Yeon, the CEO of the major conglomerate Jungseong Group, a woman defined by strong charisma and uncompromising leadership. While she lives with a cool, business-minded exterior, she hides a warm inner self. After meeting Park Chang Wook (played by Go Joo Won), the emotional walls she had long kept sealed begin to open. The character serves as a central pillar of the drama’s narrative.
Park Han Byul married former Yuri Holdings CEO Yoo In Suk in 2017, and the couple has two sons. Following her husband’s involvement in the 2019 Burning Sun scandal, Park suspended her entertainment activities and lived on Jeju Island.
She made her first broadcast appearance in six years in March last year through TV Chosun’s variety show 'Dad and Me,' followed by her role in the NBS Korea Agro-Fisheries Broadcasting drama 'My Love From the Fields,' released in October. In December, she served as an MC for the 29th Chunsa International Film Festival, and she has recently completed filming for the movie Karma.
