Parastar Entertainment has announced the launch of a global audition to recruit new members for Big Ocean, the world’s first K-pop idol group composed of Deaf and hard-of-hearing artists.
Big Ocean was created to challenge long-standing barriers in the global music industry and to demonstrate that Deaf artists can perform, connect, and thrive on international stages while preserving their identity, language, and culture.
The three-member group debuted in 2024 with the digital single “Glow.” They released their first mini-album ‘Follow’ in November of the same year.
Since its debut, the group has drawn global attention for redefining what accessibility and inclusion can look like within mainstream pop music.
As part of Big Ocean’s continued growth and global expansion, the audition is now open worldwide to discover the next generation of members who will join the group’s journey on international stages.
The audition is open to Deaf or hard-of-hearing male applicants and Children of Deaf Adults (CODA) born in or after the year 2000. Applicants should submit one performance video and may choose one of three categories: vocal, dance, or rap. Only selected candidates will be contacted individually.
