Actress Nana is reportedly suffering secondary harm after a robbery suspect filed a complaint against her, prompting her agency to announce strong legal response.
On Jan. 2, Nana’s agency Sublime released an official statement, saying, “Through a thorough investigation by authorities, the criminal facts of the perpetrator in the robbery and injury case involving actress Nana have been clearly confirmed.”
The agency emphasized that during the crime, the perpetrator was armed with a weapon, and Nana and her family suffered severe physical and psychological trauma. “The physical and emotional pain resulting from the incident continues to this day,” the statement said. “Despite this, the perpetrator has shown no remorse and has instead filed a separate complaint against Nana, exploiting the fact that the victim is a public figure and causing secondary harm through inhumane actions.”
Sublime continued, “We place the protection of our artist’s rights as our top priority. In relation to this matter, we will pursue all possible civil and criminal legal actions against the perpetrator. We will respond with full responsibility until the end to ensure that our artist does not suffer further harm.”
The incident occurred on Nov. 15 last year, when a robber broke into Nana’s home in Guri, Gyeonggi Province. Nana reportedly subdued the intruder, who was armed with a weapon, during a physical struggle and immediately reported the incident to the police.
The suspect, identified as A, was arrested and detained on charges of aggravated robbery resulting in injury. However, during the investigation, A recently submitted a complaint against Nana, claiming that her actions while restraining him constituted attempted murder. He reportedly insisted that he was not carrying a weapon at the time of the crime and did not inflict any injuries on the victims.
Nana’s side had initially been considering leniency, but after learning of the countersuit, they decided to take all possible legal measures in response.
The case has drawn significant public attention, with many expressing concern over secondary victimization and voicing support for Nana’s firm stance against the suspect’s actions.
