Jay Park’s first self-produced idol group, LNGSHOT, has officially made its debut and revealed the story behind their unique team name.
At a debut showcase held on January 13 in Yeongdeungpo, Seoul, member Woojin shared that the group’s name was personally created by Jay Park. “Since it’s not a commonly used term in Korea, it felt unfamiliar at first,” he said. “But as we continued promoting under the name, we realized there’s no other word that could replace ‘LNGSHOT.’ Now it’s a name we truly cherish.”
LNGSHOT is a four-member boy group consisting of Oyul, Ryul, Woojin, and Louis. The team was launched by Jay Park, an influential artist and the CEO and lead producer of MORE VISION. The group’s name symbolizes “a decisive shot that turns the game around, even against slim odds.”
Their debut EP, 'SHOT CALLERS', includes five tracks: pre-release single “Saucin,” along with “Backseat,” “Moonwalkin,” “FaceTime,” and “Never Let Go.”
