Singer Jung Seung Hwan brought laughter to fans by jokingly "dissing" his agency, Antenna, known for housing superstars like Yoo Jae Suk and Lee Hyori.
On January 4, a new video titled 'Antenna members who are still slightly crazy in the Year of the Fire Horse' was uploaded to Jung Jae Hyung's YouTube channel, 'Fairy Jaehyung'. The video featured a New Year's gathering with fellow labelmate Lee Sang Soon.
During the meal, Jung Jae Hyung asked Jung Seung Hwan about his new YouTube content. When Seung Hwan mentioned he was working with an outside production company, Jung Jae Hyung teased, "Doesn't Antenna make it for you? Is Antenna poor?"
Without missing a beat, Jung Seung Hwan quipped, "Antenna is always poor. Isn't our company motto 'Let's do music while poor'? We always maintain that poverty," causing everyone to burst into laughter.
The joke is particularly funny because Antenna, founded by Yoo Hee Yeol, has grown significantly. It was acquired by Kakao Entertainment in 2021 and now boasts a star-studded lineup including Yoo Jae Suk, Lee Hyori, Kyuhyun, and Lee Seo Jin.
In the past, however, the "poor" image was somewhat true. When Yoo Jae Suk first joined, he famously offered to forgo a signing bonus because the company couldn't afford it, though Yoo Hee Yeol insisted he take it. Jung Seung Hwan's joke played on this old image, despite the company's current massive success.
