An individual known as “Injection Aunt” (referred to as A), who is suspected of performing illegal medical procedures on broadcaster Park Na Rae and others, has been sending what many see as cryptic signals.
On January 24th KST, 'Unanswered Questions' aired a report on the so-called “Injection Aunt scandal.” Previously, Park Na Rae’s former managers alleged that she had received illegal medical procedures from A, a non-medical practitioner without a physician’s license. It was also reported that Key and creator HAETNIM had undergone similar procedures from A. All individuals mentioned are said to have suspended activities following the controversy.
Ahead of the broadcast, A broke more than a month of silence and resumed social media activity, writing to the production team, “I clearly conveyed my position sufficiently,” and “I have made it clear that if false information about me or recordings of phone conversations with my husband are aired as if they were interviews for the sake of ratings, I will pursue legal action.”
At the same time, A’s previously private social media account showed that only Park Na Rae, Jun Hyun Moo, and Key were being followed.
During the program, A’s husband stated, “Claims that Key or Na Rae believed A was a doctor are completely false,”adding, “A has never pretended to be a physician.” He also claimed, “A suffers from a rare and intractable disease, Complex Regional Pain Syndrome (CRPS), and her hands are stiff, making it impossible for her to administer injections,”expressing a sense of injustice.
After the broadcast, A released medical documents stating diagnoses of panic disorder and CRPS. However, the authenticity of the materials has not been independently verified.
A also criticized the production team, saying, “I told them not to edit conversations with my husband to look like interviews, but they used hidden cameras and ‘devil’s editing’ again. When a source said they weren’t a plastic surgeon, the caption was changed to label them as a doctor,” and added, “Stop harassing me. Because of you, I even attempted suicide from shock on January 1st.”
Since then, A has deleted the series of statements she posted. She later uploaded an image containing the word “Signal” and set the song “Between Lies and Truth” by Gohaka as background music.
A continues to actively refute the broadcast’s claims and assert her innocence. Her cryptic follows and posts have further fueled public curiosity, raising questions about whether she will soon present a more formal account of her position.
