VERIVERY claimed their first-ever music show win for “RED (Beggin')” on KBS2’s 'Music Bank' on December 12, even though the program did not air its regular live broadcast that day.
Instead of its usual live episode, 'Music Bank' was replaced with a special broadcast titled 'Music Bank in Lisbon,' which aired at 5:05 p.m. KST. As a result, there was no live stage or encore segment despite the chart results being officially counted.
The 'Music Bank in Lisbon' special featured highlights from the '20th Music Bank World Tour,' held on September 27 (local time) at MEO Arena in Lisbon, Portugal. The concert brought together a global lineup of K-pop artists, including Taemin, ATEEZ, IVE, RIIZE, ZEROBASEONE, and izna.
Actor Park Bo Gum served as the host for the Lisbon concert. He previously worked as an MC on 'Music Bank' from 2015 and has continued his role as a representative host for the program’s overseas concerts, starting with Singapore in 2017 and continuing through Jakarta, Chile, Berlin, Hong Kong, Paris, Mexico, Belgium, Madrid, and now Lisbon.
The Lisbon performance was themed around “The Age of K-Pop Exploration” and featured several special stages unveiled during the broadcast. izna performed their new song “Mamma Mia” for the first time, while ATEEZ members Seonghwa, Wooyoung, and Yeosang presented a reinterpretation of BLACKPINK Lisa’s “Money.” Taemin also performed his hit song “Move” alongside ZEROBASEONE’s Han Yujin for a collaborative stage.
Launched in 2011, the 'Music Bank World Tour' has grown into a large-scale global K-pop festival that brings Korean artists directly to international fans. The Lisbon concert marked the tour’s 20th stop, following last year’s performance in Madrid.
Despite the absence of a live broadcast, VERIVERY’s win on 'Music Bank' marks a significant milestone for the group, as “RED (Beggin')” becomes their first song to top a music show chart.
