Actress Shim Eun Kyung is garnering continued attention at international film festivals.
According to her agency Pangpare, on December 2nd KST, Shim Eun Kyung has been nominated for Best Actress at both the 38th Nikkan Sports Film Awards and the 36th Singapore International Film Festival for her role in the film 'Days of Travel'.
The Nikkan Sports Film Awards is a Japanese film ceremony that has been held since 1988. The Singapore International Film Festival, launched in 1987, is one of Asia’s leading film festivals.
'Days of Travel', directed by Miyake Sho, follows screenwriter Tsutsumi Shinichi (played by Shim Eun Kyung) as he experiences a life-changing encounter during a snowy-day trip. Time spent at a small inn sets off subtle shifts within his life.
The film has been sweeping global film festivals. It previously won the top prize, the Golden Leopard, at the Locarno Film Festival, with the jury praising it for “a deeply human portrayal of essence and emotion.”
It has also been invited to several major international film festivals, including the 73rd San Sebastián International Film Festival, the 22nd Reykjavík International Film Festival, and the 33rd Hamburg Film Festival.
Meanwhile, 'Days of Travel' will be released in Korea on December 10th.
