Broadcaster Park Na Rae has come under scrutiny over allegations of receiving illegal medical treatment, and her agency has firmly denied any wrongdoing.
On December 6, a representative from N Park Co., Ltd, Park’s management company, told OSEN that the claims were unfounded. The representative explained, “All she did was receive nutritional injections from someone with a medical license.”
Earlier that day, Dispatch released photos and alleged message exchanges that appeared to support suspicions of illegal medical procedures. According to the report, Park Na Rae supposedly received IV drips at a private residence instead of a medical facility from an individual referred to as the “injection auntie.” She was also said to have obtained depression medication through proxy prescriptions.
Attorney Lee Sae Joong of Law Firm Gwangjang, representing Park, had previously stated through another media outlet that there was “no legal issue whatsoever with Park Na Rae’s medical treatment.” He explained that Park was unable to visit a hospital because of her busy filming schedule and simply requested a house call from the doctor and nurse at the clinic she regularly visits. He added that this is a widely used and legally permitted medical service for ordinary patients.
Dispatch presented a different account and reported that the “injection auntie” was not a licensed physician. Based on this, the outlet claimed that any medical treatment provided to Park was illegal. Park’s side responded that they understood the individual in question to be “a licensed doctor.”
A representative from her agency added, “We first met this person at a hospital. We became close afterward, and because Park Na Rae’s schedule was extremely demanding, house calls were requested whenever she was not feeling well.”
Park Na Rae is also facing separate allegations from former managers, including claims of power abuse, assault, and embezzlement. Her agency denied these accusations and described them as “untrue.” The company stated that the former managers continued to add new allegations over time and increased their financial demands, which eventually reached several hundred million KRW.
According to the agency, Park Na Rae has been experiencing emotional distress because of the sudden resignations, the ongoing accusations, the growing monetary demands, and pressure through the media. The agency has filed a criminal complaint against the former managers on charges of extortion.
