
On December 10 KST, the Ministry of Sports, Culture and Tourism and the Korea Creative Content Agency jointly held the '2025 Korea Contents Awards', recognizing a total of 24 content creators and 15 excellent creative productions for their contributions to the development of K-content.
This year, the following categories were recognized: 'Contribution to Overseas Expansion', 'Development of the Broadcasting and Motion Picture Industries', 'Development of the Gaming Industry', and 'Development of the Content Industry'.
First, director Maggie Kang of Netflix's 'K-Pop Demon Hunters' earned the most prestigious commendation this year, earning the Okgwan Order of Cultural Merit in the 'Contribution to Overseas Expansion' category.
Also in the 'Overseas Expansion' category, producer Park Young Suk of Netflix's 'When Life Gives You Tangerines' and chief executive officer Yoon Hyun Joon of Studio Slam ('Culinary Class Wars') earned the Presidential Merit, while producer Teddy of The Black Label earned the Prime Minister's Merit for his contributions this year not only to the success of 'K-Pop Demon Hunters', but the successful global launch of 5th generation K-Pop acts MEOVV and ALLDAY PROJECT.
Meanwhile, director Kim Won Seok of 'When Life Gives You Tangerines' and scriptwriter Park Ji Eun of 'Queen of Tears' earned Orders of Cultural Merit in the 'Broadcasting and Motion Picture Industry' category, along with others.
Excellent K-content recognized for their contributions this year included the animation film 'Heartsping: Teenieping of Love' (2024), the fantasy idol webtoon 'Debut or Die', and the animated character GANADI.
