Actor Hyun Bin has opened up about the historic moment he and his wife, Son Ye Jin, won top acting awards together.
On December 21, Hyun Bin appeared as a guest on the YouTube channel 'Fairy Jaehyung' to promote his Disney+ series 'Made in Korea'.
The couple recently made headlines at the 46th Blue Dragon Film Awards by becoming the first married couple to win Best Actor and Best Actress together.
Hyun Bin humbly explained why they were sitting together, creating the picture-perfect moment. "Being nominated is an honor, but I think that seat was actually meant for Lee Byung Hun," he revealed. "Since teams usually sit together, that was his spot. But he was in the U.S. with Director Park Chan Wook, so I ended up sitting next to my wife."
Hyun Bin expressed his deep love for his wife regarding their joint win. "I went up first to receive my award and came down in a daze. But the moment my wife's name was called, I think I was even happier than when I won."
He also touched on the significance of her win, noting that these were their first projects since marriage and the birth of their son. "I started filming 'Harbin' right around when our son was born, but my wife had a much longer break," he explained. "She had a thirst for acting. Watching me go to film sets, she must have wanted to act so badly. Seeing her suppress that to care for our family, and then getting such a great result with her comeback... It felt like she was being rewarded."
