Baseball legends Ryu Hyun Jin and Choo Shin Soo showed off their close friendship and shared shocking stories on JTBC's 'Please Take Care of My Refrigerator'.
On the December 14 broadcast, the show revealed Choo Shin Soo's refrigerator, leading to a hilarious confession from Ryu Hyun Jin.
The MC asked about a rumor that Ryu Hyun Jin used to "raid" Choo Shin Soo's refrigerator in the U.S. Ryu admitted it with an awkward laugh. "When I went to his house, he always had the best water and healthy food stacked up," Ryu explained. "When he (Choo) was drunk, my wife and I would say, 'We're taking this,' and packed things up. I used the 'Choo Shin Soo Chance' a lot."
Choo Shin Soo made everyone laugh by responding, "I knew about it. But when I opened the fridge the next day and saw the empty spots, my heart hurt a little."
The episode also showcased Choo Shin Soo's massive 5,500-pyeong (approx. 4.5 acres) mansion in Texas. The chefs were in awe, commenting that his kitchen was the size of a normal house and noting his restaurant-grade wine cellar.
Despite his wealth, Choo revealed his desperate desire for honor. As the first Korean to be on the ballot for the MLB Hall of Fame, he stated, "I don't expect to get in. But if I could be inducted, I would trade everything I own for it."
Choo also proved to be a romantic husband. He revealed that he changed his eating habits from meat to seafood just because his wife likes it. He also praised her cooking, saying, "My wife makes tofu herself. It tastes better than anything you buy at a store. I'm the only one who gets to eat it."
'Please Take Care of My Refrigerator' airs every Sunday at 9 PM KST.
