Singer Jung Dong Won will enlist in the Republic of Korea Marine Corps.
On the 24th, his agency Showplay Entertainment announced in an official statement, “Jung Dong Won applied to the Marine Corps and recently received notice of acceptance. He will enter the Marine Corps Training Group on February 23, 2026, and faithfully carry out his duty to the nation.”
The agency added, “This decision reflects a long-held aspiration of Jung Dong Won. We believe that ‘Wooju Chongdongwon’ (his fandom) will respect his choice and offer warm support.”
No official events will be held on the day of enlistment. The agency requested, “As the enlistment ceremony will be shared with many fellow soldiers and their families, we kindly ask fans to refrain from visiting the site and to send their support from afar.”
Showplay Entertainment concluded, “We ask for your continued encouragement so that Jung Dong Won can complete his military service in good health and return to you more mature.”
Meanwhile, Jung Dong Won is scheduled to begin his military service on February 23, 2026, upon entering the Marine Corps Training Group.
