Actors Lee Si Woo and TWICE member Dahyun are set to meet on-screen in the upcoming JTBC Friday series 'Love Me.'

'Love Me' tells the story of a slightly selfish yet ordinary family, who, after having lived life mostly for themselves, begin to explore love and grow through their experiences.

Lee Si Woo will portray Seo Jun Seo, a graduate student who dreams of romance but often acts impulsively, while Dahyun plays Ji Hye On, an editor at a publishing house aspiring to be a novelist. The series will explore the delicate balance between friendship and love, capturing the emotional growth of youth rooted in a friendship that started in kindergarten.

Jun Seo, the typical youngest sibling, constantly seeks reassurance in love. A nearly ten-year age gap from his older sister, Seo Jun Kyung (played by Seo Hyun Jin), has left him emotionally distant from her. Following a sudden family tragedy, he drifts without responsibility in a tense household. Although attending graduate school, he feels uncertain about his future. Hye On, who has always been there to listen to his complaints, serves as a friend closer than family.

In contrast to Jun Seo’s immaturity, Hye On takes responsibility for her own life. A lifelong book lover, she works at a publishing house while nurturing her dream of becoming a novelist. Having cared for Jun Seo since childhood in place of the distant Jun Kyung, she knows everything about him—including his romantic history. Over time, however, she realizes her feelings may be more than just friendship.

The pair is so familiar with each other that they move freely through one another’s spaces. Stills released on November 19 highlight their effortless comfort and easy, playful exchanges—a testament to their long-standing friendship. Yet, within this familiarity lies the central tension: are these feelings truly just friendship? The story’s core revolves around the subtle shift from long-standing friendship to awakening romance.

The production team commented, “Lee Si Woo delicately portrays Jun Seo’s complex inner world of anxiety, romantic dreams, and immaturity, while Dahyun naturally embodies Hye On’s warmth and emotional resonance. Their fresh yet intense acting chemistry adds a new layer to the youth-driven narrative.”

They added, “Jun Seo and Hye On are so familiar with each other that their subtle emotional shifts are only noticed later. The series will capture the boundary between friendship and love in a realistic and understated way. Please watch to see what choices they will make.

'Love Me' is based on the Swedish series of the same name created by Josephine Bornebusch, and has also been remade in Australia by BINGE/FOXTEL under the same title. The JTBC series premieres on December 19 at 8:50 PM with back-to-back episodes 1 and 2.
