Seventeen’s Jun has been selected as the official face of the '7th Hainan International Film Festival,' taking on the role of Youth Ambassador for the prominent global event.
On November 26, the festival committee announced Jun’s appointment, highlighting him as one of the most notable rising talents in the Chinese film industry. As Youth Ambassador, he is expected to serve as a bridge between filmmakers and audiences, promoting the festival’s mission and international vision.
The 'Hainan International Film Festival' is one of China’s major film events, drawing filmmakers, industry professionals, and cinephiles from around the world. This year’s festival will be held in Sanya, Hainan Province, from December 3 to 9, showcasing more than 4,600 film submissions from 119 countries and regions.
Jun has been steadily expanding his presence as an actor. In August, he appeared in the film 'The Shadow's Edge,' which was released not only in China but in major cities worldwide. In the project, he worked alongside legendary figures such as Jackie Chan and Tony Leung. The film earned him invitations to the '27th Shanghai International Film Festival' and the '30th Busan International Film Festival,' further solidifying his status as an emerging global actor.
His acting projects continue to gain traction. The historical romance drama 'Auspiciously In Love,' in which he stars, is set to premiere on the Chinese OTT platform iQIYI.
Jun’s growth as an actor has been consistent since his early years. He appeared in the 2006 film 'Tinker Ticker,' earning the Best New Actor Award from the Hong Kong Film Directors’ Guild the following year. He later became the first Chinese child actor nominated for Best New Performer at the '27th Hong Kong Film Awards.'
Most recently, Jun received the Popularity Award at the Asia Contents & Global OTT Awards during the 2023 Busan International Film Festival for his role in the youth romance series 'Exclusive Fairy Tale.'
With his appointment as Youth Ambassador, Jun’s rising reputation as a versatile entertainer and actor continues to gain momentum across Asia and beyond.
