NewJeans members Haerin and Hyein have officially confirmed their return to their agency, ADOR.
On November 12th, ADOR released a statement saying, “Haerin and Hyein have expressed their intention to continue their activities with the company. After thorough discussions with their families and careful consideration with ADOR, they have decided to respect the court’s ruling and comply with their exclusive contracts.”
The agency added, “We will do our utmost to ensure the members can carry out their activities smoothly. We kindly ask fans for their warm support and to refrain from spreading unfounded speculation.”
Last November, NewJeans notified ADOR of the termination of their exclusive contracts and began promoting under a new group name, NJZ, which sparked an ongoing legal dispute. ADOR subsequently filed a lawsuit seeking confirmation of the validity of the exclusive contracts.
On October 30, the Seoul Central District Court’s Civil Agreement Division 41 ruled in favor of ADOR, upholding the validity of the contracts. Following the verdict, NewJeans’ representatives stated, “Given that the trust between the parties has completely broken down, it is impossible to return to ADOR and continue normal activities,” and announced their intent to appeal.
With Haerin and Hyein’s decision to return, attention is now turning to whether the remaining members, Minji, Danielle, and Hanni, will also rejoin ADOR.
