On November 15, attorney Noh Young Hee read a statement sent by Min Hee Jin during a live broadcast on the YouTube channel 'Noh Young Hee TV.'
In her statement, Min emphasized that NewJeans was conceptualized from the very beginning as a five-member group. “I created the group with all five members in mind from the start. Their visuals, voices, colors, style and choreography were all designed on the premise of five. That is why people were drawn to them and why the group’s identity became complete,” she stated.
She continued, “NewJeans becomes whole only when the five are together. Their individual colors and voices interlock to form one complete shape. Now that they have returned, these five must be valued and treated with care.”
Min also urged that unnecessary controversy and speculation be avoided. “The core issue is directed at me, but do not drag the girls into it. They must be protected, not used. NewJeans exists as five.”
Earlier on November 12, ADOR announced that members Haerin and Hyein, after extensive discussions with their families and the agency, had decided to respect the court’s ruling and honor their exclusive contracts. ADOR added, “We will do our best to support Haerin and Hyein so they can continue their activities smoothly. We ask the public to refrain from unfounded speculation about the members.”
On the same day, the remaining three members, Minji, Danielle and Hanni, also notified ADOR through their legal representatives of their intention to return. However, ADOR stated that it is still in the process of confirming the details and has not yet officially announced their reinstatement.
Last year, NewJeans sought the reinstatement of Min Hee Jin after she was dismissed amid conflicts with HYBE. When this request was not accepted, the members claimed that their contracts with ADOR had been terminated because of an alleged breach of contract in November. The group has now returned to ADOR one year later.
Min’s full closing remarks, as included in the statement, read:
“I created the picture with all five from the beginning.
Their visuals, voices, colors, styles, and movements were all structured on the premise of five.
That is why people were captivated and why one complete form came to life.
NewJeans becomes whole only as five, with each member’s color and voice interlocking into a perfect shape.
Now that they have returned, these five must be cherished.
Unnecessary disputes and interpretations are not helpful.
The issue is aimed at me, but it does not involve the girls in the process.
They must be protected and not used.
NewJeans exists as five.”
