The individual known as “A,” who accused actor Lee Yi Kyung of alleged misconduct, has deleted their social media account shortly after reversing their earlier admission that the allegations were fabricated.
On November 19, A posted a message apologizing for the confusion surrounding the repeated changes in their statements. “I sincerely apologize for the confusion caused by my posts. I said everything was a lie because I became scared,” A wrote. They claimed they feared being sued or held financially responsible, which initially prompted them to retract their accusations.
However, A later reversed this retraction and insisted that the evidence they had uploaded was genuine. “AI cannot generate photos of celebrities, and I have never used AI in that way. All the evidence I uploaded is real,” they stated. A added that they were speaking out again out of concern that other victims might be misunderstood or dismissed due to suspicions of AI manipulation.
Despite claiming that they did not want to escalate the situation further, A continued posting messages expressing frustration, including, “It wasn’t AI, so it feels unfair. They are making me the bad guy.”
Account Deleted After Reversing Statement
Following this renewed insistence that their evidence was authentic, A abruptly deactivated their social media account. All previous posts were set to private, and the profile now appears as nonexistent, making it impossible to locate the account on social platforms.
Netizens responded critically, questioning the constant changes in A’s story. Comments included, “What exactly is real?”, “They keep changing their statements and deleting posts,” and “How many times have they deleted things now?”
Agency Continues Strong Legal Action
Lee Yi Kyung’s agency, Sangyoung ENT, stated that their legal response remains unchanged regardless of A’s shifting statements. The agency confirmed that they filed a complaint on November 3 and have completed the actor’s formal testimony with the police.
They emphasized that the actor and company suffered serious harm due to the allegations and distribution of false information, and reiterated that they will continue to respond firmly without any consideration of settlement.
Impact on Lee Yi Kyung’s Activities
Amid the turmoil, Lee Yi Kyung stepped down from his regular role on MBC’s 'Hangout with Yoo,' and his planned appearance as an MC on KBS 2TV’s 'The Return of Superman' was canceled.
With A deleting their account immediately after reversing their retraction, public trust in the accuser continues to erode, while concerns grow regarding potential long-term damage to Lee Yi Kyung’s reputation.
