Seven-member girl group Billlie, signed under Mystic Story, recently commemorated their fourth anniversary since debuting in 2021 with the mini-album ‘the Billage of perception : chapter one.’

Over the years, the group has demonstrated their uniqueness and versatility through their music and performances. Known for their foundation in dance-pop and pop-rock, the members revealed they would like to challenge themselves with something “on the complete opposite of the spectrum,” raising anticipation for what’s next for Billlie.

Before they took the stage at the Bench’s ‘Shoot of Asia’ basketball exhibition game in the Philippines, allkpop sat down with the members (Moon SuA, Suhyeon, Haram, Tsuki, Sheon, Siyoon, and Haruna) to talk about their year so far, their journey, and their goals musically.

allkpop: We have one month left for the year. How has your 2025 been so far? What are you up to these days?

SuA: I worked really hard this year too, and it was such an honor to share the K-pop stage with global artists through such special opportunities. Also, Siyoon and I collaborated together for ARrC’s album that was released in November. Suhyeon and I are also co-hosting the ‘EBS Radio Idol Korean’ DJ show.

Tsuki: I've been involved in various activities, but this year was especially glorious because I got to participate in the ‘2025 Waterbomb Festival’ in Seoul and Sokcho. I’m thrilled to be here with the basketball team during halftime! It's such an honor to be able to perform here in the Philippines.

allkpop: It's been a while since you released new music. Is there a genre or concept that you'd like to try for your future projects?

Haram: I love R&B, so I really want to challenge myself with hip-hop R&B. I also want to try something on the complete opposite end of the spectrum—dramatic, edgy concepts in songs or performances. I think our group, Billlie, can pull that off well and show you a new side of us. Thank you.

Sheon: I've always wanted to try Red Velvet's song “Bad Boy.” I'd love to do a song with that slightly dark, red-toned concept and a chic vibe.

allkpop: If you could compare your 2021 selves to your current selves, in what ways do you think have you improved or changed?

Tsuki: Looking back, a lot of time has passed. In fact, I think even the look in my eyes has changed. Now that we have juniors in the same company, a sense of responsibility has grown. The more stages we perform, the more our skills seem to accumulate. Our performances feel different, and the team's bond has changed too. So, we'll keep working hard to show you great stages in the future.

Siyoon: Personally, I don't think anything has drastically changed. Especially our mindset about the stage and our original passion—we still haven't lost that, and our love for performing hasn't changed. But if I had to point out a change, it's that we've grown to love Belllie’ve even more. Also, we feel we're receiving more love, and we're able to give more in return. That part has changed a little.

allkpop: Is there anything you've learned from your journey?

SuA: I definitely feel like my skills have grown a lot through our activities, but what I've felt most strongly is the sense of being loved by our fans. Seeing our fans gives us the energy to work harder and perform with more energy on stage. I think we’ve also learned to enjoy the feeling of being loved by our fans.

Haruna: I've learned so much. Since debuting and promoting, I've learned many ways to efficiently manage busy schedules. I also cherish the feeling of being loved by fans and the joy of having fans I can love back. I feel like I've grown a lot.

allkpop: Looking back, what's one thing you achieved that you will always be proud of? Do you have any favorite moments?

Suhyeon: I'm sure I'm proud of everything, but I think debuting as part of Billlie itself is probably what I'm most proud of. And above all else, debuting together with our members is what I'm most proud of. Meeting the members, debuting, meeting the members again, and then meeting the people called Belllie’ve and being able to receive their love—that itself feels like the most proud moment in my life. If I had to pick the most memorable moment, every single moment would be the most memorable But I think it might be the fan concert. At that time, I was so happy, sad, overwhelmed, and filled with such a mix of emotions that I couldn't express it with just one feeling. It was truly an unforgettable moment.

Siyoon: For me, the moment we won first place [on a music show in Korea] is the most memorable. It felt like a time when we could give back to Belllie’ve, even just a little. I was so proud of our members, and it was a moment filled with immense gratitude towards Belllie’ve for supporting us all this time. That's why it's the most unforgettable moment for me. Thank you, Belllie’ve.

allkpop: Could you share with us your pre-show routines? What helps you hype up for your show?

Tsuki: First off, if you don't eat anything, you won't have any energy, so I eat rice and then often have something sweet to recharge. But honestly, before going on stage, we all gather together chant—like “Let's go!”—and that's actually what gives me the most energy. More than that, the moment I feel the most energy is when I'm actually on stage, standing there and meeting the audience. So I really treasure that moment and always perform with that in mind.

Suhyeon: Since I need to dance well and sing well, muscle stretching and vocal warm-ups are a given. But Haram and I really emphasize vocal warm-ups as crucial. So normally, we do a lot of vocal exercises and humming to warm up our vocal cords. And before the stage, we have to release almost 100% of our body and vocal cord tension, or even 120% before going on stage. Only then can we give you a truly 100% performance up there. So we always strive to warm up perfectly.

allkpop: Of all your tracks, which one gets you most hyped to perform, and which is the trickiest to pull off live?

Haram: I'd like to pick “nevertheless.” It's my favorite song, and honestly, it has the widest vocal range spectrum, so it's a bit challenging and difficult. But precisely because of that, I think fans love it so much. When we perform it, the energy we get right after the stage ends is even greater. So even though it's difficult, I still think it's a really great stage performance.

SuA: I think “RING ma Bell (what a wonderful world)” is the most exciting song. It's a rock sound track, and I feel like it's a song where I can jump around and have fun with a lot of people, so I think it's the most fun to perform live. The song I think is the most challenging live is “remembrance candy.” I don't sing it myself, but the chorus part requires a lot of breath control to hit those high notes while maintaining that feeling and musicality. So I think it's especially tough for the vocal members. But they're doing an amazing job.

allkpop: Lastly, please share with us your goals and leave a message for allkpop readers and your fans.

Haruna: Musically, I want to try more diverse approaches. First, I aim to keep challenging new genres, expanding both musically and in performance. That's the goal. Lastly, I want to tell our fans how incredibly grateful I am and hope they'll keep supporting us.

Sheon: My goal is to always deliver polished performances wherever we go. Just as we always gain so much energy from our fans on stage, we want to give back that energy we receive. We'll strive to show you even more amazing performances going forward. Please be happy listening to our music.

SuA: First and foremost, I want to express my deepest gratitude to all the Belllie’ve fans who always wait for us and cheer us on. We're working hard to show you our best selves, so please keep supporting us. We love you so much!
