Actress-turned-entrepreneur Goo Hye Sun announced the upcoming launch of her patented hair roller, KOOROLL. On November 1, she shared a post on her personal social media account, stating, “Preparing for the KOOROLL launch,” alongside a photo verifying her use of the product.
KOOROLL was developed in collaboration with Professor Lee Hae Shin, a distinguished professor in the Department of Chemistry at KAIST, while Goo Hye Sun pursues a Master’s degree in Engineering at the KAIST Graduate School of Science Journalism. Unlike traditional cylindrical hair rollers, KOOROLL features a flat, rectangular design that can be adjusted to the desired size. Its compact form also makes it easy to carry and travel with.

On October 10, Goo Hye Sun posted on Instagram, “The venture office construction is complete, and we will be moving in soon. I’m really excited as this is my first venture.” She added, “The construction took a whole year. I sincerely thank the local residents for their understanding and the managers who worked so hard. I will work diligently.”
Goo Hye Sun initially filed for the KOOROLL patent in July 2020, which was officially registered in December of the following year. Recently, she received a preliminary venture company certification and is reportedly in discussions with distributors to finalize the launch roadmap.
