It's been reported that former TEEN TOP member C.A.P is serving as chair of the 'Idol Labor Union Preparatory Committee'.
On November 7 KST, entertainment agency Modern Berry Korea confirmed, "It's true that our artist Bang Minsu is currently chair of the 'Idol Labor Union Preparatory Committee'."
Earlier, it was reported that the Idol Labor Union Preparatory Committee submitted a request for official union establishment with the Seongnam branch of the Ministry of Employment and Labor in September. Currently, around 10 former and active K-Pop idols have expressed their intentions of joining the union, including singer Ailee.
Meanwhile, Bang Minsu debuted as a member of TEEN TOP in 2010, then left the group in 2023. Soon afterward, he began his activities as a YouTuber, raising controversial accusations against the K-Pop industry and its purportedly "harmful" practices.

Based on Bang Minsu's controversial YouTube activities, some Korean netizens disapproved of his role as chairman of the Idol Labor Union Preparatory Committee. They commented,
"He's no longer an idol so how can he represent the needs of idols."
"How can someone who badmouths idols claim to represent them and their rights."
"This feels like a classic case of an imbecile acting up for no good reason..."
"I thought he left because he hated being an idol."
"I'm all for the idea of an idol labor union.. but this guy?? I don't trust him."
"This whole idol labor union scheme doesn't seem genuine. I honestly don't know what a union with just 10 members will achieve."
"Did any of the laborers who are being represented and spoken for agree to this..?"
"He quit and left because he was fed up with being an idol. He's not fit for this."
"An idol labor union sounds fine and all but why him?"
"There are actors/actresses' labor union, so sure, form an idol labor union. But a former idol who doesn't respect the industry can't represent it."
"Who gave him the right to speak up on behalf of idols? If he gave himself that right, that would be extremely laughable."
