According to insiders on November 27 KST, the organizers of the '2025 MAMA AWARDS' have convened for an emergency meeting in light of the devastating Hong Kong apartment fire which broke out a day earlier.
As the death toll rises and the battle against the fire is ongoing in several of the apartment buildings, the question of whether or not the '2025 MAMA AWARDS' can go on as planned this weekend is up in the air.
If all goes as scheduled, the '2025 MAMA AWARDS' will take place from November 28-29 at the Hong Kong Kai Tak Stadium, located approximately 20 km from the scene of the apartment fires.
When contacted for a statement, the organizers of the awards told media outlets, "We are currently checking on the matter."
As of November 27 KST, Hong Kong authorities have confirmed 44 deaths, 45 in critical condition, and 279 still missing from the destructive fires. Of the 7 buildings that went ablaze, 4 have been contained, while firefighters are still working to put out fires in 3.
