Stray Kids leader Bang Chan marked his birthday with a generous act of philanthropy, donating a total of 200 million KRW (about 143,000 USD) to support children in need.
On October 3, Bang Chan contributed 100 million KRW (about 71,000 USD) each to Samsung Medical Center and the Korean Committee for UNICEF. His donation to Samsung Medical Center will help cover treatment expenses for pediatric and adolescent patients, while the contribution to UNICEF will go toward its core programs, including health, nutrition, water and sanitation, education, child protection, and emergency relief. The funds will be prioritized for regions and initiatives in urgent need.
With this donation, Bang Chan was also inducted into the UNICEF Honors Club, a recognition reserved for high-value donors. “Thanks to the love of my fans, I was able to share warmth with others. I hope this can help children dream of brighter futures,” he shared.
Bang Chan has consistently engaged in charitable efforts. Last year, on his birthday, he donated 100 million KRW (about 71,000 USD) to the Community Chest of Korea, supporting athletes with developmental disabilities. That contribution earned him membership in the Honor Society, another prestigious circle of major donors.
Meanwhile, Stray Kids is set to hold their encore world tour concert, 'dominATE : celebrATE,' at the Incheon Asiad Main Stadium on October 18–19.
