On October 22, Shinji shared a heartfelt moment on her YouTube channel How About Shinji?!? with the video titled, 'Selling a Porsche I Loved for 15 Years and Buying a New One…'
In the video, Shinji visited a dealership to pick up her newly purchased used Porsche. She said, “I’m going to pick up my new car today. I’ve had my beloved car for 15 years, but it’s finally reached the point where I can’t drive it safely anymore. So, I decided to buy a used Porsche for safety reasons.”
Shinji revealed that she had chosen a Porsche Cayenne, the same model as her previous car. Her fiancé, singer Moon Won, commented, “Shinji really cherished her old car. I understand why she decided to switch. I hope this car protects her well in the years to come.”
Shinji reflected emotionally on her memories, saying, “When I went to Gwangju from my house in Seoul, everything at the house was still unsettled. On the day someone else signed the contract for it, I cried as soon as I got in the car. I thought I had the car for 8 or 9 years, but it turns out I’ve had it since 2013. Moon Won asked me why I was crying. That car held so many memories, both good and bad.”
Despite buying a new car, Shinji admitted she wasn’t ready to part with her old Porsche. “Honestly, I should let it go, but I can’t. I’m not emotionally prepared,” she said. Moon Won reassured her, “I’ll take good care of it until the end.” Shinji explained, “I asked him to look after it. It’s a precious car that saved my life. He knows cars even better than I do, so I entrusted it to him.”
Shinji also shared a harrowing experience from the early days of owning her first car. On a drive to her parents’ house, a leaf spring flew across the highway and almost hit her. “It was like a deadly projectile. It didn’t hit my face, but it was right at head level in the car. The front of the car was almost crushed. The police managing the highway helped me, and I eventually got it covered through insurance. I loved that car so much, so it was heartbreaking. For a while, even falling leaves would make me anxious about driving,” she recounted.
