RIIZE becomes the first-ever “shooting idols” after taking home gold in pistol event at ‘2025 ISAC’

RIIZE showed outstanding performance in the men’s team pistol shooting event.

On October 6th KST, MBC aired the '2025 Chuseok Special Idol Star Athletics Championships' (hereafter ISAC). In celebration of its 15th anniversary, ISAC introduced pistol shooting as a brand-new event, replacing the fan-favorite archery competition. Legendary shooter Kim Jung Mi and rapid-fire pistol medalist Jo Young Jae joined as commentators, drawing attention.

In the semifinals, the rising boy group RIIZE faced off against ZEROBASEONE, generating excitement since both groups debuted in 2023.

When asked about their victory pledge, ZEROBASEONE’s Zhang Hao boldly declared, “During our next tour, all members will reveal their abs.” In response, RIIZE’s Wonbin fired back with a pun, saying, “ZEROBASE… please don’t score ONE point,” playfully using their team name to gain the upper hand. Zhang Hao added, “We may have debuted in the same year, but did you know that we’re ISAC seniors?”—further fueling the friendly rivalry.

RIIZE went on to win the match and advanced to the finals. In the other semifinal round, P1Harmony and NCT WISH battled fiercely, with the match going into overtime. In the end, P1Harmony secured their spot in the finals.

The final match between RIIZE and P1Harmony began with a face-off between P1Harmony’s Keeho and RIIZE’s Anton. Anton showed his prowess as the team’s “shooting ace” and scored higher. Next, P1Harmony’s Jongseob and RIIZE’s Shotaro competed. Jongseob displayed strong focus and closed the score gap.

In the final round between P1Harmony’s Intak and RIIZE’s Wonbin, Intak leveled the score with a great performance. However, Wonbin kept his composure under pressure and outscored his opponent, securing the gold medal for RIIZE in the men’s team pistol shooting event.

After the win, Anton expressed his excitement, saying, “Honestly, we really wanted to win. I’m so happy we actually did it.” Wonbin also thanked the fans for their support.
