
Actor Lee Yi Kyung has announced that he will take strong legal action against false rumors circulating about his private life.
His agency, Sangyoung ENT, released an official statement on October 20 via social media, saying, “We are preparing legal action regarding the spread of false information and malicious rumors circulating online and on social media. Given the seriousness of the matter, we will assess both the direct and indirect damages caused by the dissemination of falsehoods and take all possible measures.”
The agency continued, “Please note that not only the original creation of such content but also the reckless posting and sharing of it will be subject to legal action. We urge everyone to avoid unnecessary harm that may result from these actions.”
Earlier, a blogger had posted several photos claiming to show conversations with Lee Yi Kyung. The images appeared to depict exchanges between the actor and the person who uploaded the post. After the post spread rapidly online, the agency issued its statement in response.
According to industry insiders, the agency had already received monetary blackmail attempts related to the blog post. The post has since been deleted.
