On October 7, Kwon Eun Bi appeared on MBN’s Chuseok special program Donmakase. During the broadcast, she candidly discussed the challenging period she experienced after her initial debut.
Kwon Eun Bi shared her journey, explaining, “I originally debuted in 2014, but I wasn’t well known, so the group disbanded. I trained for four more years and then participated in another audition program in 2018. That’s how IZ*ONE was formed.”
Host Hong Suk Chun asked, “I see. There must have been times of hardship, darkness, and despair. How did you overcome that?” Kwon Eun Bi responded thoughtfully, “Everyone needs a period of despair. I think it’s because of that time that I can endure things well now.”
She added, “At times like that, you just have to hold on, with this mindset alone. With the support of my parents and friends, I endured until the end. I’m so grateful that many people recognize me now.”
Celebrity chef Lee Won Il commented, “Hong Suk Chun also went through hard times after coming out but bounced back. People who overcome difficulties seem to be really resilient.” Hong Suk Chun replied jokingly, “We climbed back up from rock bottom. Don’t mess around beside us,” prompting Kwon Eun Bi to respond cutely, “Don’t mess around,” which brought laughter to the set.
