Singer Kang Kyun Sung of the group Noel has spoken out about long-standing false rumors that arose after he publicly shared his belief in abstinence before marriage.
On September 10, the YouTube channel 'Insaeng Yebae (Life Worship)' released an episode featuring Kang Kyun Sung, where he candidly addressed the issue. The singer revealed that after he talked about keeping his virginity until marriage on various programs, malicious rumors began spreading online, falsely accusing him of visiting adult establishments.
Kang said, “Because of that statement, a post went viral online about ‘a member of a group starting with N and named K.’ It described me going to a room salon, drinking, and having relations with a hostess in a disgusting way. It was so detailed it shocked me.”
He firmly denied the allegations, saying, “I’ve never been to such places, and I’ve never done such things. My friends sent me the posts out of concern, and my hands were literally shaking. Even though no articles came out, the rumors spread privately. I was furious at first and wanted to find the person who started it.”
The singer shared that he eventually overcame his anger through his faith, explaining that hateful comments continued to follow him on broadcasts, mocking his belief in abstinence.
Debuting with Noel in 2002, Kang Kyun Sung is known for hit ballads such as “Proposal,” “Holding On,” “It Was All You,” “I Miss You,” and “Late Night in Front of Your House.”
