BLACKPINK member Lisa is set to appear in the new installment of Netflix’s original action franchise ‘Extraction’, joining actor Ma Dong Seok in the upcoming film.
According to film industry insiders on October 15, Lisa is positively reviewing an offer to star in the Netflix action blockbuster spin-off ‘Extraction: Taego’, part of the hit ‘Extraction’ franchise.
The original ‘Extraction’, released in 2020, follows former special forces mercenary Tyler Rake (Chris Hemsworth) as he takes on a powerful criminal organization. The film became a global success, amassing over 231.34 million viewing hours. Its sequel, ‘Extraction 2’, was released in 2023 following the first film’s tremendous popularity.
Unlike the previous entries, ‘Extraction: Taigo’ will serve as a spin-off with an entirely new storyline centered around a new lead character played by Ma Dong Seok. Director Lee Sang Yong, known for helming the hit films ‘The Roundup 2’, ‘The Roundup 3’, and the upcoming ‘The Roundup 5’, will direct the project.
Lisa previously made her acting debut in the HBO drama ‘The White Lotus’ season 3, marking her first step as an actress. She also made a surprise appearance on the red carpet at the 30th Busan International Film Festival in September, signaling her expanding career in acting.
