Leeteuk of Super Junior revealed never-before-seen glimpses into his personal life on the September 17 episode of TV Chosun’s 'My Way – Over-Immersion Club.'
Marking his 20th debut anniversary, Leeteuk got candid about how his life has revolved entirely around work for the past two decades.
In a rehearsal studio preparing for Super Junior’s 20th anniversary concert, he met with fellow members Shindong, Ryeowook, and Eunhyuk, and confessed, “I’ve never once been to a celebrity gathering in 20 years. I don’t have any celeb friends I meet up with privately.” The other members nodded in agreement, adding, “Leeteuk really just stays home all the time.”
Although known publicly as someone well-connected in the entertainment industry, Leeteuk had never actually participated in any of those circles.
The episode also marked the first time Leeteuk was shown making plans with another celebrity peer. “He’s a great hyung and senior. I really made an effort to meet up,” he said, as he spent a day in Seongsu-dong, a popular date spot among MZ generation locals.
Watching the scene unfold, Chae Jung An remarked, “I get the feeling you’ve never even been on a date.” To this, Leeteuk surprised everyone by replying, “Back when I was active, there would be 20 to 30 sasaeng taxis following me around. I literally couldn’t go on a date.”
Leeteuk also opened up about a change in his views on marriage. Once firmly opposed to the idea, he now feels differently: “Lately, I’ve started thinking maybe sharing life with someone might not be so bad after all.”
With a desire for change, Leeteuk decided to immerse himself in something new: Muay Thai. Stepping outside his comfort zone, he visited a gym recommended by his members. “I’ve never used my legs like this in my life,” he joked, as he gave his all during his first day of Muay Thai training. Though his inexperience showed, his determination and charm shone through in his first-ever sparring session.
Meanwhile, from August 22 to 24, Leeteuk joined his fellow Super Junior members at KSPO Dome in Olympic Park, Seoul, for their 20th-anniversary tour, 'SUPER SHOW 10'. The “SUPER SHOW” brand concert marks its 10th edition this year and will span 24 performances across the globe through March 2026, reaching an estimated 300,000 fans worldwide.
