Actress Shim Eun Kyung made a striking appearance at the 30th Busan International Film Festival (BIFF), turning heads with her bold fashion and shining presence at multiple official events.
Shim’s film Days at the Sea was nominated for BIFF’s newly launched main competition section, while her leading role in 'The Killers' also earned her a nomination for Best Actress at the Buil Film Awards.
At the opening red carpet, Shim captivated the crowd in a stylish “prince look” suit ensemble that broke away from conventional expectations of female celebrity attire. Featuring ornate gold embellishments on the blazer and a flowing white ruffled shirt, her outfit exuded a dazzling and gender-fluid elegance—garnering praise from fashion insiders and stylists alike.
During a press conference, Shim shared her gratitude:
“It’s such an honor to present Days at the Sea at BIFF’s 30th edition, especially as part of the newly launched main competition section.”
She also reflected on a personal connection with director Sho Miyake, explaining that they first met at BIFF in 2022 during a Q&A session for Small, Slow But Steady—Miyake’s previous work.
“It’s so moving to be back in Busan, standing here again three years later with his latest film,” she said with heartfelt emotion.
Throughout the festival, Shim actively engaged with audiences, participating in Q&A sessions, cover interviews with Cine21 and Deep Magazine, and a behind-the-scenes video shoot for BIFF—showcasing her dedication and sincerity.
After wrapping up her festival schedule, Shim took to her personal account to express both gratitude and a sense of longing:
“It all went by so fast. I’m incredibly thankful to the fans who always support me. I exist because of you, and I promise to live and work even harder.”
