Pledis Entertainment, the agency behind Seventeen, has shared an update on its ongoing legal measures to protect the group’s rights.

On September 26, the company posted a notice titled 'Update on Legal Action Regarding Infringement of Artists’ Rights' through the global fan platform Weverse.

The agency confirmed that it is taking firm steps to bring offenders to justice across multiple areas. One of its key targets is professional ticket scalpers, with Pledis actively cooperating with police investigations to curb illegal reselling practices.

Pledis also addressed the issue of leaked confidential information related to Seventeen’s unreleased albums and concerts, which had been circulated online on several occasions. According to the agency, “The investigation confirmed that the suspect was charged with leaking trade secrets, and the case has been transferred to the prosecution. The investigation is still ongoing.”

Emphasizing a zero-tolerance stance, the company vowed to continue its cooperation throughout the legal process to ensure that violators receive appropriate punishment under the law.

In addition, Pledis reaffirmed its commitment to combating malicious online activity. The agency stated that it has been pursuing both civil and criminal actions against the spread of falsehoods, defamatory posts, and derogatory remarks targeting Seventeen members. This includes attacks directed at members currently fulfilling mandatory military service.

“There will be no leniency or settlements regarding slander or defamation against our artists,” the agency stressed. “We will respond actively until the end to ensure strict penalties are imposed.”

This is not the first time the company has announced such measures. In June, Pledis declared an all-out response to malicious commenters, even filing requests with local courts to disclose information on overseas social media users.

Meanwhile, Seventeen is in the midst of their ‘NEW_’ world tour. The group is scheduled to perform at Kai Tak Stadium in Hong Kong on September 27–28.
