Actress Lee Si Young has donated 100 million KRW (approximately 73,000 USD) to support single-mother households in Korea.
On September 26, Lee revealed the donation certificate on her social media, writing, “I have been supporting single-parent families for several years now.”
The released photo shows Lee presenting her contribution to the Korean Unwed Mothers’ Families Association (KUMFA). The funds will be used to improve housing conditions for single-mother families.
Explaining her motivation, Lee said, “This year, I wanted to provide a different and warmer kind of support. It was something I had been planning since the beginning of the year, and I’m finally able to start. Once I began, I realized just how many families are truly in need, and I found myself wishing I could do more.”
She added, “If there are any interior designers or furniture representatives willing to offer advice or help, their interest would be most welcome. I also welcome attention from those who need support. I want to help create beautiful homes.”
Lee married businessman Cho Seung Hyun in 2017, and the couple has a son, Jung Yoon. However, they announced their divorce earlier this year after eight years of marriage.
During the divorce process, Lee revealed she became pregnant with her second child by choosing not to discard the embryo from IVF treatment carried out during her marriage. She is currently eight months pregnant.
