On September 20, singer-actor Seo In Guk held a fan meeting in Manila as part of his 'Heart Cookie' tour.
After serenading the audience with his soothing vocal performances of “My Love” and “Distant Fate,” he expressed his joy at being able to meet his fans once again.
“I can feel your passion through my flesh. I’m happy,” he said.
In a Q&A segment, In Guk spoke about his role as one of the hosts on the South Korean dating show ‘Better Late Than Single.’ He was then asked if he was the type to coach couples on their relationship.
The actor replied that he would rather comfort them than try to guide the direction they should take.
When asked about how he maintains long-term relationships, In Guk emphasized that regardless of the type of relationship, it must be honest.
On his recent Disney+ series, ‘Twelve,’ which follows 12 zodiac angels, Seo In Guk plays the role of Won Seung, who symbolizes the Monkey. He shared, “I was able to prepare a lot of action scenes, and given that those zodiac signs have their own competence, I think I’m pretty satisfied with the action scenes and I’m happy about it.”
When asked to choose between four acting genres—acting with mournful eyes, a romantic kiss scene, lively action performance, and realistic everyday acting—In Guk chose the last option.
“Actually, I’m excelling in all those four parts,” he said, to which the audience agreed in unison. “But the thing I enjoy the most is the realistic everyday acting. Because when we shoot sad scenes, I really feel sad in real life. I don’t enjoy those sad emotions, so I’d have a hard time since my heart is aching. For kissing scenes, it’s important to bring up those elements. So whenever we shoot a kissing scene, every one of us is serious.”
He added, “For lively action performance, there are given moves that are provided by the action team, and it’s actually fun, but it’s more tiring. Even with a little wrong movement, we could get injuries, so we need to be very careful. For realistic everyday acting, the environment of the shooting place is lively and there’s also freedom to do adlibs. So once we get the approval from the directors and writers, it could be easy.”
In Guk also expressed his desire to play an antagonist role. “I actually have this longing feeling about being an antagonist.”
“There are some antagonists who have no choice but to become one. There are also some who are the worst of the worst even since birth,” he said.
Toward the end of the fan meeting, Seo In Guk relayed a message to his fans: “I wanted to say that I’m very thankful that my fans are doing a lot of good things in this society. I’m very grateful because I feel like I’ve received a gift that’s incomparable to anything. I think a lot that I want to be a person that when you think of me, you’d be proud of me. I thank you so much for being my fans and I’m so proud of you.”
“I’ll do my best to be an actor and singer that you can be proud of. Thanks to the fans who made this fan meeting possible,” he added.
In Guk wrapped up the fan meeting by performing the fan-favorite track “All For You,” during which he went down the stage to closely interact with fans.
