On September 5, a press screening and media conference for the film 'Run To You' took place at Lotte Cinema World Tower in Songpa-gu, Seoul.
Director Lee Seung Hoon attended along with actors Ha Suk Jin, Lee Shin Young, Dahyun, Lee Soon Won, and Yoon Seo Bin to discuss the film. 'Run To You' is a running drama that follows a man racing through the present and another racing toward the future, showing their full-speed pursuit of a perfect ending. The film is scheduled for release on September 10.
Ha Suk Jin plays Gu Young, South Korea’s fastest man who is approaching the end of his prime. The story shows his struggle to reduce his time by just 0.02 seconds as he chases his dream of competing in the men’s 100 meters at the World Athletics Championships. Lee Shin Young portrays high school student Kang Seung Yeol, who has feet faster than a soccer ball, capturing the joy and innocence of youth.
Adding charm to the story, Dahyun, member of TWICE and actress, plays Lim Ji Eun, who captures Seung Yeol’s attention with her radiant energy when she runs. Ha Suk Jin said, “I have never been particularly fast as a child, so preparing for the role of an athlete required a lot of training. We filmed this intensely from February to March last year, and I am excited to finally share it.”
Lee Shin Young added, “We tried to capture the essence of youth while filming, and I think it came through well, which makes me happy.” Dahyun commented, “'Run To You' is a passionate film about chasing your dreams with everything you have. I hope everyone enjoys it.”
Inspired by real-life sprinter Kim Kuk Young, Director Lee Seung Hoon explained, “I enjoy watching sports live. Once, I happened to watch a 100 meter race where a veteran won by a noticeable margin over the runner-up, but he was frustrated. It turned out he ran 10.07 seconds, just missing the 10.05 standard for the World Championships.”
This film also marks Ha Suk Jin’s return to the big screen after nine years. Reflecting on his comeback, he said, “Performing in front of the camera after nine years does not feel drastically different, but doing the pre-screening stage greeting made me realize how long it has been.”
'Run To You' will have an exclusive release at Lotte Cinema starting September 10.
