
Disney+ original series 'Tempest' unveiled new stills on August 4.
'Tempest' follows Moon Ju (played by Jun Ji Hyun), a UN ambassador who has earned international acclaim, as she pursues the forces behind an assassination attempt on a presidential candidate. Alongside her is San Ho (played by Kang Dong Won), a mysterious special agent of unknown nationality tasked with protecting her. Together, they confront a truth that threatens the Korean peninsula.


The project has been highly anticipated for the second half of the year, thanks to its star-studded cast and acclaimed production team. It is co-directed by Kim Hee Won, known for the hit dramas 'Queen of Tears' and 'Vincenzo,' and Heo Myung Haeng, the director of 'The Roundup: Punishment.' The screenplay is penned by Jeong Seo Kyung, who wrote 'Decision to Leave' and 'Little Women.' In addition to Jun Ji Hyun and Kang Dong Won, the cast includes John Cho, Park Hae Joon, Kim Sae Sook, Yoo Jae Myung, Oh Jung Se, Lee Sang Hee, Joo Jong Hyuk, and Won Ji An.
The newly released stills capture Moon Ju and Sang Ho caught in an incident, joined by other characters exuding their powerful presence.



One image shows Moon Ju attending a mass for peaceful unification, exuding elegance as a UN ambassador, while the serene atmosphere before a tragic gunshot heightens the tension. San Ho, scanning his surroundings with sharp eyes, emanates extraordinary charisma, stirring curiosity about his concealed identity. The still of Moon Ju and San Ho standing face to face suggests a fateful chemistry long awaited by fans, raising anticipation for their journey through storms of suspicion and danger as they seek the truth.



John Cho appears as Anderson, the U.S. Deputy Secretary of State, seen with a stern expression among high-ranking White House officials, sparking curiosity about the looming threat. Also featured are Ok Sun (played by Lee Mi Sook), the commanding chairwoman of the influential Asum Shipping; Jun Ik (Park Hae Joon), a leading presidential candidate; Kyung Shin (Kim Hae Sook), the calm yet charismatic sitting president; and Jun Sang (Oh Jung Se), a top prosecutor recognized with the Prosecutor of the Year award. The powerful synergy of the ensemble cast promises a gripping narrative as their intertwined fates unfold.
With its weighty storyline and richly layered characters, 'Tempest' will premiere on Disney+ with three episodes on September 10, followed by two new episodes weekly starting September 17, for a total of nine episodes.
