On August 2, South Korean actor Lee Do Hyun successfully held his first-ever fan meeting in Manila, titled ‘RE ▶ DO HYUN.’
The event was his final stop on his fan meeting tour across Asia and came after his military discharge last May.
Lee Do Hyun opened the show with a vocal and guitar performance of “Unspoken,” captivating the audience with his dynamic voice. Throughout the evening, he continued to showcase his musical talent by singing “You Remember,” an original soundtrack from his hit drama ‘The Glory,’ and “Piano Man.”
After the opening performance, Lee Do Hyun participated in a Q&A session, where he answered questions about his career and personal life.
When asked about his guitar skills, he shared that he taught himself to play in high school, claiming to be wanting to become popular in school.
Reflecting on his acting career, Lee Do Hyun shared that he initially aspired to be an athlete but his parents were against it. This led him to discover his passion for acting. “I was watching a film and I fell in love,” he said. “So, I enrolled myself in an acting school and became an actor.”
When asked whether he is more drawn to a script or a character, Lee Do Hyun explained that while both are important, he prioritizes the script. “Because if the script is good,” he said, “then the character comes back to life with a very good portrayal.”
Known for his roles in dramas such as ‘18 Again,’ ‘Youth of May,’ ‘The Glory,’ and the film ‘Exhuma,’ Lee Do Hyun was asked which project he would like to see a second season of. He chose ‘The Glory,’ expressing curiosity about whether his character, Joo Yeo Jeong, successfully carried out his revenge.
When asked about his most memorable moments, Do Hyun confessed that there are many, but he is most touched by comments from fans. “What really touch me are the comments from people who compliment me, who have seen me act and that, in a way, gives them hope,” he shared. “That really encourages me.”
“Whenever you think of me, I hope I can bring a smile to your face.”
